I am new to the middle school library so I have a lot of reading to do! What books would you recommend that I read first? Which ones do I need to make sure I don't miss?

Ghost stories are very popular right now. You might want to read Jade Green by Phyliis Reynolds Naylor to find out if there is a real ghost or not. Read it to find out.

If you like mysteries, then you will want to read books by Lois Duncan. After reading one, you will want to read them all. Her books are fiction, however, she wrote a true story about the search for the truth behind the death of her daughter called "Who Killed My Daughter".

You should read Skeleton Creek by Patrick Carmen. It has like a suspense to the story. The video clips are on line and tell Sarah's part of the story. The journal entries are Ryan's part of the story. You might be scared of this book.
I think you should get the Amelia series because they are very good and interesting. The main character, Amelia is like me. The teachers are all the same and she gets in trouble. I also like the Claudia Cortez series. They are interesting and tell you the ways of middle school.

Hi this is John recommending Dragonblood. These books talk about kids all over the world who have one thing in commen. They have a strange birthmark of a dragon and when they are in danger they turn in to a dragon.
The Bronze Pen is a good book because it talks about how you have to be careful what you wish for. There was a little girl who writes a book with a special pen and then it comes true. This is a fantasy.
I recommend Eragon, Eldest, and Brisinger. The Eragon series is a fascinating series to read because it is about a boy who becomes a dragon-rider who is trained by dwarves and elves to take down the king who is using his power for evil. Also the Jake Maddox sports series is good for all ages.
The Bluford Series is a good choice because it has drama, and has situations that can be real. It also gives examples of things you should stay away from. They are really interesting subject. Also you don't ever want to put the book down it's like you are actually in the book.
A great series that would be nice for people who love to read is the Twilight Series . Most people think the series is just like the movie , but it is not . It's actually different from the movie . Some of the parts of the book is similar , but most of them are different. I encourage you to purchase this series . I think your students will like this.

I'm not sure of the name put i think it called "Deep Down Popular" and it fantastic its about a girl who is finally 10 and theres a club for girls only 10 and there really snotty. I think you should read "Elephant Run." "Elephant Run" is a good story. The book begins with a boy named Nick Freestone. Nick Freestone goes to his father's house. While he's there he likes a girl named Mya. Mya and Nick have to hide because their at war, but they have a monk to help them. I liked reading a book called "GONE". It's about a select area of california that gets cut of from the rest of the world and everyone over 15 starts vanishing in the blink of an eye. Animals are mutating, kids are getting powers, and hunger threatens. It's basically the end of california. I hope you like it!

I like most of these books and forgive me if I missed this but the book series I enjoy happens to be the Hardy Boys. It is a great book series about two boys and there father who is a well know detective and the boys are trying to follow in his footsteps of fighting crime and catching criminals. It is a great series and I am sure you will love it.
I would recommend the series Diary of a of a wimpy kid or Diary of a dork.They are both about an unpopular girl or boy in middle school who are trying to find their place in this new environment but in the end it all work out for the best.

The series of Percy Jackson and the Olympians are all great reads. These books are all about a teenage boy whose dad is Posidon, the greek sea god and finds his way to halfblood hill where all the other halfbloods or demigods, as they say train to be heros. Percy leads many quests along with his friends Annabeth and Grover. The author Rick Riordan makes you feel like you are really inside the book with Percy at your side slicing the head of a hydra with him. I hope that you find these fantastic books and come to love them as much as I do !
I think that "Fire Star" by Chris D'Lacey is an adventurous book to read. Its about this family, the Pennykettle's, makes miniature clay dragons that can come to life. They have a tenant named David Rain who when to the arctic for a collage expedition, and to find the Fire Tear from the last living dragon on a mystical island called the Tooth of Ragnar. There he runs into one of his old enemies, a syble named Gwillana,and he meets some friendly bears to help him too. To learn more read the book and maybe it may be your favorite book as well.

It is a great book series about two boys and there father who is a well know detective and the boys are trying to follow in his footsteps of fighting crime and catching criminals. Star Wars2:The Clone Wars is very interesting it has a lot of action and some romance . It is mainly about Anakin Skywalker protecting Amidala Padma from bad guys who are trying to kill her and they end up getting caught in a lot trouble. Once you read this book you will find it interesting!
Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, this book is the last Harry Potter novel and movie. It has a lot of action and what makes it different from all the other books is that there is romance. The series of Percy Jackson and the Olympians are all great reads. These books are all about a teenage boy whose dad is Posidon, the greek sea god and finds his way to halfblood hill where all the other halfbloods or demigods, as they say train to be heros. Percy leads many quests along with his friends Annabeth and Grover. The author Rick Riordan makes you feel like you are really inside the book with Percy at your side slicing the head of a hydra with him. I hope that you find these fantastic books and come to love them as much as I do !
I think that "Fire Star" by Chris D'Lacey is an adventurous book to read. Its about this family, the Pennykettle's, makes miniature clay dragons that can come to life. They have a tenant named David Rain who when to the arctic for a collage expedition, and to find the Fire Tear from the last living dragon on a mystical island called the Tooth of Ragnar. There he runs into one of his old enemies, a syble named Gwillana,and he meets some friendly bears to help him too. To learn more read the book and maybe it may be your favorite book as well.
